Recognition Day

Tuesday was the last day of school for both Brad and Cole. They both had recognitions at school as Brad is leaving South Junior High School and ninth grade for Lawrence High School next fall, while Cole is leaving Schwegler Elementary and sixth grade for South Junior High School. Both grandmas and Gus were able to attend the day's festivities.

Cole The Catcher

Tuesday Cole got to play his favorite baseball position - catcher. He did a great job stopping wild pitches, threw two runners out and went two of three batting. His team posted a win over a team, which won a big tournament the weekend before the game. Not too shabby.

Brad Shares Top Athlete Award

At the South Junior High Awards ceremony Friday, Brad shared the school's top athlete award with neighbor and teammate Shane Willoughby. It was the first time the school recognized co-winners. Adree Shield was named the top girl athlete. Brad played football, basketball and baseball and was a team captain in all three sports. Shane played all three as well, including starting on the Lawrence High School varsity team as a freshman. There are so many deserving kids for this award.

Two Games, Two Wins

Cole's lacrosse team played a double-header on Sunday, April 11 and won both games. Cole scored three goals in each game. Here are a few photos of number 50 and and a video at the end.

Lawrence Lions Baseball Season Opener

The Lawrence High School Freshman Team opened play on Saturday, April 3 with a double-header against Shawnee Mission North. The mighty Lions won both games, posting a 10-0 victory in the first game and a 12-0 shutout in the second contest.

Bradley was the leadoff hitter in both games and on the second pitch of the season, drilled a ball between the shortstop and third baseman for a single. He went two of four in the first game and two of two in the second game for a four of six day. He played centerfield and third base in the first game and third base in the second game.

The team will play a double-header on Wednesday.

In other news, he was voted one of four captains by his teammates earlier in the week.
